Softwinds Farm has established a lesson program to accommodate all ages, skill levels, and interests.  We focus on the basics of riding, ensuring the fundamentals of riding a horse are second-nature before advancing.  We have stringent safety measures on the property and uphold all our riders to these standards.  Proper helmet use is required when on a horse, and proper footwear is required when in the barn.  All of our riders who jump may only do so with supervision.  We also ask that dogs be kept on leashes while on the property. 

We maintain safety standards on how to interact with your horse from the beginning.  As with any sport, the risk of injury is always present, but we take every measure possible to reduce the odds of an accident.  After all, falling off a horse is just part of learning how to ride!  If you have any questions about our safety standards, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Softwinds also offers a leasing program for any of our students.  Leasing one of our lesson horses is a great way to establish a special bond with an animal without the financial and time commitment of owning a horse.  A full lease consists of riding up to 5 days a week with the use of the horse’s tack and grooming supplies.  A partial lease consists of riding 2 times a week with the use of the horse’s tack and grooming supplies.  Both of these 6 month commitments can help you figure out if owning a horse is something you want to consider, or if weekly lessons leave you wanting something more.
